Michael Lee Legg, age 65, passed away on April 5th, 2022. He was born to the late W. Marion Legg and Lois Lee Wright Legg in Memphis, Tennessee on June 26th, 1956.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Patricia Ann Whitt Legg; son, Christopher Michael Legg; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Brinkley Legg; grandson, William Lewis Coleson Legg; brother; William Marion Legg II; sister-in-law, Peggy Blair Legg; and mother-in-law, Martha Ann Whitt.
He attended the University of Alabama and Alabama A&M University and graduated a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science. He spent his career defending our country as a Department of Defense contractor for Technology Service Corporation and Teledyne Brown Engineering.
He was an avid swimmer and outdoorsman who enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, canoeing, and spending time on the farms in Arkansas and Tennessee. He was a wise, knowledgeable man; he was someone whom peers often turned to for advice and leadership. He had a quick wit and a knack of turning the most serious situation into a humorous one. He took solace in and received peace from Christ, he was a steadfast friend to so many, and he was a beloved husband and father.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 8 at Whitesburg Baptist Church, Main Campus. The funeral will follow at the church with Brother Murray Wilton officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International, to continue the mission of spreading the Word of God.
