Five Suspects Indicted For Attempted Murder In Florence

FLORENCE-On the evening of December 4, 2021, the victim attempted to calm some upset customers and was attacked from behind as the victim was then sitting with friends at the Drink Factory.

The Florence Police Department has released a statement concerning the Grand Jury indictment of Attempted Murder against five suspects:

“Willie Shelby, Marcus Cole, Ronnie Shelby, Jamia Shelby, and Dontramese Littleton were served Grand Jury indictments in reference to an incident that occurred in December at the Drink Factory on Huntsville Road.

The victim attempted to break up a verbal argument at the bar when she was jumped by several subjects. The fight was broken up and the victim and her friends went outside trying to get away from the subjects but they left their personal items at their table.

They then went back inside to retrieve them and the fight picked up again. Jamia Shelby and Dontramese Littleton started kicking and punching the victim. Willie Shelby, Marcus Cole and Ronnie Shelby blocked the bouncers and others from breaking up the fight. All five subjects were initially charged with Assault 3rd. According to medical records, obtained after the incident, the victim suffered hearing loss in one ear.

The case was presented to Lauderdale County Grand Jury and the charge of Assault 3rd was elevated to Attempted Murder. All five subjects were served Attempted Murder indictments and are currently out on bail.
