PIEDMONT-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Piedmont that has taken the life of one person and sent another to hospital with injuries after their vehicle struck a tree in the roadway:
“A single-vehicle crash at approximately 5:20 a.m. Thursday, March 31, has claimed the life of a Buford, Ga. woman.
Christine Ki Yoon, 62, was fatally injured when the 2018 Toyota Camry in which she was a passenger struck a tree in the roadway and then left the roadway. She was transported to Gadsden Regional Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver, Scott Moon Soo Yoon, 65, also of Buford, Ga. was also injured and transported to Gadsden Regional Hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred on U.S. 278 near Cherokee County 753, approximately six miles east of Piedmont, in Cherokee County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
