Derek Long, 41, of Athens, passed away on Saturday, March 26th, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Long was born on May 9th, 1980, in Tennessee.
Mr. Long is survived by his wife, Gail Long; daughter Taylor Long; sisters Alison Manning and Steph Long; parents Donald and Marie Manning; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Long will be Wednesday, March 30th at 11:00am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Mitch McCormick officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29th from 5:00-7:00pm at the chapel. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Dorsey, Chris Davis, Josh Blake, Jason Vair, Dustin Green, Adam Daniel, and Layne Davis.
Mr. Long loved to spend his time fishing, hunting, and grilling for his family and friends.
