Hollis Morgan Chism, 84, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 at his residence.  He was born in Itawamba County, MS to Bratton Banker and Johnnie Morgan Davis Chism.  He was retired as a truck driver and from the National Guard.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Red Bay.

Graveside services will be Sunday, March 20, 2 p.m. at Red Bay City Cemetery with Bro. Bill Harper officiating.  Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Peggy Chism; four children, Cynthia Benford, Karen James, Laura McKinney (Richard) and Billy Chism (Kim); eight grandchildren, Jill Abston, Malorie James Quillen, David McKinney, Joe McKinney, Jesse James, Madalan Smith, Drake Hester and Dylan Pierce; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Bates; several nieces and nephews and his special travel companions and lifelong friends, Robert and Faye Elkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mike Chism; his sister, Dottie Lominick and his grandchild, Kaylee McKinney.

Pallbearers will be Richard McKinney, Michael Quillen, Randy Benford, Jesse James, David McKinney and Joe McKinney.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 20, 12-1:30 at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
