Dinah Cathey Dean Noel, 80 of Huntsville passed away Monday. Dinah was born in Los Angeles County, California on June 17, 1941 and graduated from Dominguez High School in 1959. After high school she attended Pepperdine University and Abilene Christian College. She married John Noel of Boaz, Alabama in June of 1966 and they settled down permanently in Huntsville in 1973.

Dinah was a follower of Jesus and an active member of the Mayfair Church of Christ for almost 50 years. She was a longtime member of the board of Republican Women of Huntsville and actively worked in many political campaigns. Dinah loved singing, sewing and entertaining friends in her home. She worked several part-time jobs but spent most of her life caring for her family who were her pride and joy. A devoted wife and mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be missed by many and remembered for her warmth and hospitality.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Ruth Dean. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, John; two daughters, Tiffany Noel and Cathey Sullivan, both of Huntsville; three grandchildren, Matthew Sullivan (Miranda), Emma Cate Sullivan and John Parker Sullivan; and a great-grandson.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until noon on Saturday, March 19 at Mayfair Church of Christ, followed by a funeral service at noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mayfair Missions, the Auburn Christian Foundation, or to the Dinah Noel Memorial Scholarship Fund, sponsored by the Republican Women of Huntsville.
