Donald “Don” Gordon Limbaugh, age 77 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Elk River Health and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Franklin County, he was born on February 12, 1945, to the late Gordon Otho and Elizabeth (Ikard) Limbaugh. Don graduated from Franklin County High School. He then went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville and a Master’s Degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. In 1966, he began his teaching career at Winchester Springs School where he served as principal and basketball coach. Don later worked for twenty years at Rock Creek Elementary School, where he taught sixth grade and coached basketball. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and had placed eighth in the American Coon Hunters Association World Championship with his beloved dog, Punch. Don also enjoyed fishing as well as cheering for the University of Tennessee Volunteers and Atlanta Braves. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by three aunts and an uncle. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-four years, Brenda Limbaugh; sons, Jason Gordon Limbaugh, and Michael T. Limbaugh; grandchildren, Marlee E. Limbaugh, and Riley C. Limbaugh; special cousins, John Wayne Wells, Gary Wells, Bill Bedford, and Sue Galbreath. Visitation will be from 11am-2:45 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
