James Wesley Guthrie, 75 of Jasper, passed peacefully from this earth, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Walker Baptist.

He was born July 1, 1946, in Winter Garden, Florida. In 1972, he moved to Alabama to get married and start a family. He has been employed with W&M Enterprises, LTD for 49 years.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Boldo Cemetery.  Bobby Ray Patterson will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dafnear Birdie Hardin and father, Talmadge Wesley Guthrie; one infant brother and his sister, Shirley Baker.

He survived by his daughters Rhonda Denise Guthrie (Jason Turner) and Angela Leann Guthrie Cox (Jeramie), and their mother Vonda Guthrie all of Jasper; sister, Brenda Joyce Blount of Smithville, MS.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, lifelong friends, and his dog.

Pallbearers will be Jason Turner, JC Cox, Ricky Chandler, Rodney Chandler, Dean McDonald, Scott McDonald, Lawson Murphy, and Sam Walker Murphy
