TUPELO, MS-The Tupelo Police Department issued a press release concerning child abuse charges against the parents of a 4-month-old child:
“On 03-12-2022 TPD was notified that a 4-month-old infant had been brought to the NMMC ER in critical condition.
The child was airlifted to Le Bonheur Hospital for emergency care. Tupelo Officers responded to Le Bonheur to begin an investigation. Evidence was developed that led to 2 adult suspects being charged. The infant is currently improving but still critically ill.
Janson Nabors
On 03-15-2022 Suspects Megan Riley (21 y/o female, Tupelo MS) and Janson Nabors (22 y/o male, Tupelo) were arrested for Felony Child Abuse. Riley and Nabors are the parents of the victim.
On 03-16-2022 Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Sumner set bond at $1,000,000 for each defendant. This case will continue to be investigated by TPD, Lee County Youth Court and Mississippi Child Protective Services. Due to the age of the victim no further details will be released at this time.”
