Omer Douglas “Doug” Emerson, 73, died Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born in Marion County, AL and worked in manufactured housing.
Services will be Saturday, March 12, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Brian Bridges officiating. Burial will be in Shottsville Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by two children – Heather Emerson Williams and Douglas Bradley Emerson (Susie); five grandchildren – Kayla Vinson, Kody Burney, Kaitlyn Burney, Dakoda Emerson and Alyssa Emerson; one great-grandchild – Jadelynn Burney; one sister – Barbara Gail Emerson and one brother – V.H. Emerson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Marie Emerson, his parents, Marvin Erastus and Evelyn Louise Wilson Emerson and two brothers, Jimmy Wayne Emerson and Marcus Wilson Emerson.
Pallbearers will be Mark Emerson, Dewayne Emerson, Joseph Emerson, Glen Griffith, Steven Watson and Cody Watson.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 12, 12-1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
