Jane Elizabeth Shoemaker Brasfield, age 87 of Quinton, passed away March 3, 2022. She was the loving wife of Douglas Brasfield for 67 years. She cherished her family and devoted her life to her husband, children and grand-children. Her greatest joy was caring for her family, sewing, cooking and making sure everyone had everything they needed. She and her husband enjoyed camping in their early years together but in more current times her joy came simply from his companionship and spending time with their family. Jane is survived by her husband, Doug Brasfield; children Debra Gilbert, Dwight Brasfield (Connie), Christy Daugherty (Larry) and Rhonda Henderson (Larry); grandchildren, Heather Brakefield, Hilary Williams (Steve), Beth Eddings (Zach), Kayla Crider (Blake), Callie Henderson and Candy Allred (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Shane Brakefield, Brylon Lovoy, Harper Lovoy, Clara Eddings, Hazel Eddings and Kinsley Crider; sister, Nancy Click and sisters-in-law, Charlene Newton and Beverly Pruden. A graveside service to honor her life will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11am in West Jefferson Freewill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to St. Vincent’s Hospice.
