Essie Mae IveyEssie Mae Ivey, 89 of Arab passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at her residence. Essie was born March 30, 1932, in Marshall County the daughter of David Bales and Belzora Bales. She was a member of the Old Brashier’s Chapel Church.

She is survived by her Children: Barbara Beck, Vickie Kirkland and Edward Ivey; Grandchildren: Mark (Amanda) Maddox, Chris (Sammi) Kirkland, Jeremy Kirkland, Dewayne (Regina) Ivey, Amy Ivey, Angela (Robert) Nonato and Pam (Lynn) Hallmark; Twenty Great Grandchildren and Fourteen Great Great Grandchildren; Sister: Glenda Faye Murphy; Brother: Howard Bales; Sister-in-law: Dorothy Bales. She was preceded by Husband: Harm Junior Ivey, Daughter: Linda Vaughn (Rayburn Vaughn), Sons: Harm Ivey and Jerry Ivey; Son-in-law: Richard Kirkland, Sisters: Novella Pickett and Elizabeth Franklin, Brothers: Cecil Bales, Jim Bales and Roy Bales, Sister-in-law: Pauline Blakely.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2022, at Gober Funereal Chapel with Josh Garmany officiating. Burial will be in Brashier’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Gober Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers: Chris Kirkland, T.J. Johnson, Tristan Nonato, Dewayne Ivey, Mark Maddox and Jeremy Kirkland. Honorary Pallbearers: Robert Nonato and Jessie Stricklin.
