Dorothy Madeline Prince, age 88, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Viera Medical Center in Melbourne, FL. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Sewanee on June 10, 1933, to the late Samuel (Lester) and Ocie (Brooks) Finney. Before her retirement, Madeline was employed at University of the South for over fifteen years. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and baking and was an active participant in the Sewanee Home Demonstration Club. After her retirement she volunteered as a Foster Grandparent at Sewanee Elementary School for 17 years. She loved all children and enjoyed helping them learn to read. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Prince, her siblings, Doyle Finney, John Finney, Mary Fain, June McBee. She is survived by her loving sons Perry Prince of Arab, AL. and Rex (Tina) Prince of Cocoa, FL. Grandchildren Justin (Natasha) Prince of Lakeland, FL, Kristi (Berry) Singleton of Murfreesboro, TN, Kelley Prince of Melbourne, FL, Jeremy (Brittany) Prince of Friendsville, TN. She enjoyed loving her 7 great-grandchildren-Aubrey, Conner, Braxton, Jace, Bryson, Spencer and Eli. She is also survived by her siblings- Liz Yates of Sewanee, TN, Sue Clark of Madison, TN., Mark Finney of Orlando, FL and Charles Finney of Longwood, FL and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, family request donations to Sewanee Elementary School Parent Organization, PO Box 696, Sewanee, TN 37375. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm on Monday, February 21, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2pm Tuesday, February 22, 2022, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel.
