Billy Gene Taylor, 57, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. Born on June 17, 1964, he was a son to Billy Braxton Taylor and Vernice Harris. He was a longtime resident of the Bethlehem Community and was an over-the-road trucker which he loved. He attended Smithville Schools and had countless friends and acquaintances. He loved his grandson and enjoyed time spent with family.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Bethlehem Cemetery. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his daughter, Allison Paige Taylor of the Bethlehem Community; son, Austin Taylor of the Bethlehem Community; father, Billy Taylor of Smithville; brothers, Kevin Taylor of Memphis and Kenneth Taylor (Linda) of the Athens Community; sister, Jennifer Fisher of Spartanburg, SC; grandson, Bentley Smith; nieces and nephews, Nicholas Taylor, Ashley Miller, Brandon Taylor, Holly Taylor, and Devin Taylor; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vernice Harris and grandparents, Ethel and Albert Harris.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home
