Mr. Mateo Miguel Mateo, age 44, of Gadsden passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022. A funeral mass will be Sunday, 3:30 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jose Chako officiating. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery Arrangements are under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Mateo was born in Guatemala and had been a resident of Gadsden since 1995. He was a former resident of Arizona. While residing in Gadsden he attended Cory Middle School and Litchfield High School. He was a hardworking man having worked in the poultry industry and agriculture/nursey work. He saw working in the greenhouse, both planting and selling, not as work but as a hobby. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Domingo Jiminez, Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Dolores Gaspar Felipe; children, Eduardo Miguel and Michelle Mateo; parents, Juan Pedro Miguel and Michaela Domingo Cruz; siblings, Pedro (Sandra Lopez) Domingo, Eulalia (Francisco Francisco) Domingo, Maria Mateo and Ana Domingo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Pedro Domingo, Miguel Domingo, Jose Gaspar Felipe, Mario Gaspar Felipe, Juan Abac and Alermo Calbo.
