Paul Eugene Turner 95, of Athens, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at
Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Turner was born on February 17, 1926, in Limestone County to
Henry and Minnie Franklin Turner.
Mr. Turner is survived by his daughter, Beverly Stovall (Kenneth) and Dwight Turner (Alice);
grandchildren Tarry Hauser (Alan), Christina Doyle, Brian Usery (Kristin), Heather Nave (Mark),
Scott Piper (Karina), Rachel Anderson (Derek), Camille Turner LaFoy, Michael Piper, Patrick
Turner (Ashley); several great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Turner; daughter Linda Piper; his parents and five
brothers.
Mr. Turner proudly served in the Army and was shipped to Okinawa where he fought in World
War II. He retired 22 years later as an E7 Sergeant First Class. Subsequently, he retired after 22
years of service with Redstone Arsenal as an Electronics Instructor. Mr. Turner was a faithful
Christian and member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Turner will be on Saturday, February 12th, 2022, at 2pm at Limestone
Chapel Funeral Home, with Rex Tucker and Andy John King officiating. Visitation will be
Saturday from 12:00-1:45pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Limestone Memorial
Gardens.
