Meldon Junior Parson, age 75 of Haleyville, Alabama passed away February 6, 2022 at Lakeland Community Hospital. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and a Purple Heart.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville. The funeral service will be Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Ron Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Parson is survived by his mother, Billie Jean Brannon Parson; daughters, Angela Parson and Susan Parson; brother, Aubrey (Ginger) Parson; and a host of other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Meldon “Son” Parson; wife, Mary Parson; and brother, Billy Neal Parson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Free State Four Paws or St. Jude.
The family request that while attending visitation and the funeral to please observe social distancing and wear a mask.
