Martha Sue Colburn, age 81 of West Jefferson, passed away February 7, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John L. Colburn; sisters, Jo Eddie Cato, Evelyn Baer and brother, Hobson Powell. Martha is survived by her children, Debbie McClelland, Lisa Dodd (Jerry), Kim Colburn, Rev. John Michael Colburn (Cindy), Kevin Colburn (Misty), Autumn Kirkpatrick (Brandon); sister, Nell Murphy; grandchildren, Christian Colburn; great-grandchildren Cheyenne Kirkpatrick and Dallas Kirkpatrick and her fur babies, Daisy and Bella. Martha was a wonderful mother and a great cook. She was a lifelong member of West Jefferson Baptist Church where she served as organist for over 20 years. She loved doing word search puzzle books and was an avid watcher of Discovery Plus. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation from 1-2 pm. Chapel service beginning at 2pm with burial following in West Jefferson Freewill Cemetery. Rev. Bo Brown officiating.
