James Allen Christopher James Allen Christopher of Athens, Alabama passed away peacefully at home with his wife of 70 years, best friend and love of his life, Helen by his side on January 30, 2022. He was a friend and role model to so many. He loved Alabama football, playing golf, playing games with his family and a good hamburger. Most of all he loved his family. His life mission was to take care of his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and at that he excelled. He will be greatly missed but the stories, jokes, and life lessons he taught us and the deep, unconditional love that he gave us will remain forever. He is survived in death by his wife Helen, son James Allen (Skip) Christopher Jr. (Kiela), daughter Jan Holt (Mike); grandchildren Jason Christopher (Jennifer), Callie DeWeese (David), Richard Vickers (Elizabeth), Amanda Hughes (Bubba), Michael Holt, and many great-grandchildren who loved him dearly.

Funeral services for Mr. Christopher will be Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, at Limestone Chapel Funeral home from 2:00 p.m., with Dusty McLemore officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 1st, 2022, from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Athens City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Christopher, Richard Vickers, David Christopher, Bubba Hughes, Bill Kennemer, Mike Holt. Honorary Pallbearers are Jack Christopher and David Deweese.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Limestone County.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregivers Selina Fielitz, Paulette Holland, Pam Barron and Jean Murphree and all the special nurses and staff at Hospice.
