Joe Marshall Adams passed in Austell, Georgia, on Sunday, January 23, 2022. He was born in Winchester, Tennessee, on February 16, 1942. Joining the Navy, he served as an Aviation Machinists mate (jet engine Mechanic) petty officer 3rd class. Then in 1965, he married the love of his life, Lorene Kelley, and moved to Georgia. Here they raised their family, and in 1973, he earned his Associate Arts in Business Administration from the University of Marietta in Marietta, Georgia.
Joe worked over 30 years as a lead inspector at Northwest Airlines and took early retirement in early 2003. He received several commendations and honor roll over his tenure in his professional career. This hard work and dedication allowed him to provide for his family. He very much enjoyed their time together, along with driving his truck, cutting grass, and watching westerns.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene Kelley Adams of Smyrna, Georgia; son, Bobby Joe Adams (Lynn) of Newnan, Georgia; daughter, Sherry K Adams of Marietta, Georgia; granddaughters, Sarah Adams of Newnan, Georgia and Brittney Barron (Chris) of Douglasville, Georgia; grandson, Truan Walker of Newnan, Georgia; great-grandson, T J Walker of Newnan, Georgia; sister, Sadie Davis (Billy) of Winchester, Tennessee; and brother, Claude Adams ( Kathleen) of Texas.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM CST in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 1st Street. Winchester, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 AM CST to 1 PM CST. Burial will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna, Georgia, is assisting the family.
