ATHENS-On Thursday, January 27, Limestone County Churches Involved (LCCI) will say goodbye to two long-time volunteers, husband and wife, John and Daisy McCormack.  Daisy and John have been the backbone of the LCCI volunteer team for over 13 years. Daisy has served on the management team for over 10 years.  They will be moving to the Birmingham area to be closer to children and grandchildren.

Both are true community servants, volunteering in Limestone County for the past thirty years.  In addition to their dedicated work at LCCI, they have given of their time, talent, and treasure for over 25 years to other organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, CASA, Art Council, St. Andrew Society, and their home church, St. Paul Catholic Church.

Volunteering their time at LCCI to lead the food distribution efforts, organize donation storage, work front office duties, plan and execute special programs such as School Supplies Drive, Stuff A Truck, and many others, they easily spend 30-40 hours per week serving the ministry and community.  LCCI will greatly miss Daisy and John for only their dedication to LCCI but also their compassion and concern for our community’s most vulnerable.

LCCI Board President Tere Richardson said, “Daisy and John McCormack are both servants in the truest sense of the word.  Their generosity with their time and treasure to LCCI has been truly amazing. They will be greatly missed.”
