Barbara Shepherd Murphy, 81, of Huntsville was born Sept 5, 1940 and was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Murphy and her sister Johnnie Ometa Hayes and brother Clay T. Jenkins.
She is survived by her son Randy Shepherd, daughter Valeria Ravenscraft and her husband Larry Ravenscraft, step son Lynn Murphy and his wife Gail Murphy, step son Tom Junjulas, step son Wess Murphy, grandson Chase Ravenscraft, and granddaughter Ashley Ravenscraft.
Barbara was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and worked as a secretary for DSI printing. She enjoyed animals, gardening, and cooking for her family. She loved people and never met a stranger.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 until 1pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Bro. David Hutto officiating. Entombment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice Family Care or The Greater Huntsville Humane Society.
