Vera Sexton, 103, of Huntsville passed away Wednesday. Vera was well known for taking care of many customers as she spent her life in retail sales at such Huntsville landmarks as Fowler’s Department Store, Marja’s Dress Shop and Parisian’s. She was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she volunteered in the nursery for 45 years. Vera was a loving wife, daughter, mother and friend.
Survivors include her daughters, Marie Sexton (Scott Trites) and Lechon Keenan (Tom); son, Philip Sexton; two grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a multitude of friends and her special canine companion, Buddy. She was preceded in death by her husband Malcom E. (Mack) Sexton.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1:00p.m. Tuesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Children’s Ministry.
