Donald Gordon Gregg, 89 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Gregg was born on February 25, 1932, to A.E. and Jennie Griggs Gregg.
Mr. Gregg is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Clark Gregg; son Dwan Gregg (Susan); daughters Donna Walls, Sandra Bretherick (Terry), Doreen Johnson (Tim), and Esther Green; grandchildren Tara Moore (Derek), Ryan Walls, Megan Walls, Miranda Hambrick (Matthew), Chase Green, Brandon Gregg (Krissy), Suzanne Tucker (Josh), Natasha Suarez (Humberto), Jennie Sugg (John Cullen), and Breck Johnson (Lauren); 15 great-grandchildren; sister Gwen Thomas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Patsy and Mike Gooch; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, A.E. and Jennie Gregg; brothers, Clark Gregg and Ralph Gregg; and first wife, Oma Lee Cozort Gregg.
Funeral services for Mr. Gregg will be Saturday, January 8th, 2022, at 11:00am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Daniel Tucker, Dwan Gregg, Breck Johnson, and Tim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 7th, from 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Hambrick, Humberto Suarez, Chase Green, Brandon Gregg, Derek Moore, John Sugg, Breck Johnson, Josh Tucker, and Ryan Walls. Honorary pallbearers will be all great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gregg was a member of the church well over 70 years, and a member of the New Hope Church of Christ at the time of his death.
