Brenda Harbin Prater, 65 of Athens, passed away on Friday, December 31st, 2021, at her residence. Mrs. Prater was born on October 9th, 1956, to J.B. Harbin and Mary Boyett Harbin.
Mrs. Prater is survived by her husband of 46 years Clay Prater; son John Prater (April); granddaughters Camdyn and Presley Prater; brothers Farran Harbin (Sandra), Cy Harbin, and Robert Harbin (Faye); and sisters Barbara Bright (Rod) and Linda Pugh.
Preceded in death by her parents J.B. and Mary Harbin; and brothers Travis Harbin, Stephen Harbin and Bobby Harbin.
A memorial service for Mrs. Prater will be Saturday, January 8th, 2022, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Cy Harbin and Cameron Nye officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00pm at the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Limestone County, or Breast Cancer Awareness.
Brenda grew up in East Limestone with her eight siblings. She was a loving mother and maw-maw to many. She loved fishing, camping, and NASCAR. She enjoyed spending time with her Grandbabies…going on trips, doing craft projects, and spoiling them. Brenda was a courageous breast cancer fighter and had so much love for her family.
