Joshua Michael Thornton, age 41, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital.
The graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 04, 2022 at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steve M. Thornton; his grandparents, J.T. & Betty Seal and J.W. & Marie Thornton.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Thornton; his beloved sister and nephew, Jamie & Kade Bragwell; uncles, aunts, and cousins; and his best friends, Bosco and Scruffy.
Josh was a unique individual. He was artistic, enjoyed learning obscure facts, had a questioning mind, always looking for the why and how of things. He was a collector of books, cards, trivia, remote control vehicles, clothes, and friends. Josh had a dry wit and was hilarious. Irony and sarcasm were his native language. His laugh was infectious and addictive. He was an animal lover and champion of underdogs. He was generous to a fault. He dearly loved his family and was greatly loved by them. He had a loving heart, a giving spirit, and a beautiful soul. The world will be a much darker and sadder place without him.
