Jerry Lukens died December 26, 2021, at age 87 with his family by his side. Jerry was born Aril 11, 1934 in Christiansburg, OH. After graduating high school, he joined and served proudly in the US Air Force and the US Navy. After 30 years of service he settled in Huntsville, AL, became a civil servant for the Department of the Army, and went back to school getting a bachelor’s degree at Athens University of Alabama. He stayed a civil servant until his retirement.
Jerry is survived by his son, Terry, and wife, Linda; two grandchildren, Kyle and Kristen; four great-grandchildren Tyler, Elise, Kellen, and Lane; and niece, Mindy and her husband, Drew. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita, stepson, Sherman, and sister, Peggy.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, December 30 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, where Jerry served as an usher for many years. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Father Tim Pfander officiating.
