Graveside service for Johnnie Bell Hall Dietz, age 88, of Decatur, will be Monday, January 3, 2022, 12:00 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with Rev. Justin McAlpin officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Dietz, who died Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at River City Center, was born June 28, 1933, in Alabama, to Thomas Preston Hall and Sally Scott Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Harold Edward Dietz, her parents, and eight siblings, Maxine Newsom, Thomas Hall, Delilah Greenhall, Preston Hall, Rufus Hall, Berma Dell Howell, Foy Hall, and Hoy Fall. Mrs. Dietz was an avid bowler and fisherman. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by three sons, Danny Dietz (Donna) of Danville, Alan Dietz (Kelly) of Harvest, and Todd Dietz (Lesa) of Decatur; one daughter, Barbara Smith McGann (Glenn) of Hartselle; two brothers, Troy Hall (Geneva) of Moulton and Roy Hall of Danville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
