Lynada Baxter of Lester passed away on December 25, 2021. She was a member of Hester Chapel Church of Christ and was 79 years old. She was better known to those closest to her as Grandmammy, she loved her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything. Her family’s fondest memories of her will come from Sunday dinners after church that she cooked for as long as she was able. Lynada worked at the sewing factory for many years before becoming a home health aide. She spent the last few years of her working days caring for her elderly friends in the Lester community. She had a servant’s heart and was happiest when she had someone to care for.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Baxter, who passed away over twenty years age. She lived her life for her children and grandchildren, but those closest to her knew how much she missed Grampy for the rest of her life. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Boots and Edna Johnson.
She is survived by her Daughter Paula Gatlin and her husband Jim; and daughter Julie Ritterbush and her husband Jerry. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. As well as her sisters and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Limestone Health Facility and Hospice of Limestone County.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, at 2:00pm Hester Chapel in Lester with Richard Durham officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00pm on Tuesday at Hester Chapel Church of Christ. Burial will be at Hester Chapel Cemetery.
