Robert L. Hodges, 80, of Huntsville passed away at home Sunday surrounded by his family.
Born in Boston, he grew up in Mountain Brook from the age of 12. Bob was a graduate of the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity.
Bob had many accomplishments in his lifetime but was most proud of his role as Dr. John Higginbotham’s “Chief Elf” of the famous Horseshoe Trail Christmas Light display.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughters Ashley Hodges (Tristan Dixon) of Cullman and Erin Schrimsher (David) of Huntsville; two grandchildren, Amanda Segars and Colton Segars; and brother, Alan Hodges, all of Birmingham.
No services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greater Huntsville Humane Society.
