Mr. Austin Gene Lance age 90 of McMinnville, TN, (Centertown Community) died Thursday, December 16, 2021, at his residence. He was born April 12, 1931, in McMinnville, TN, was a retired dairy truck driver, former employee of the Warren County Highway Department, a member of Pleasant View Church of Christ, and served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Lance was preceded in death by parents Grady and Bertha Lorance Lance, sister Treva Young, and brothers Stanley, Roy, and Edsel Lance.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Gladys Prater Lance, son Milan Lance, granddaughters Amanda Lance and Mila and husband Kenneth Hathcock, great-grandson Hunter Fish, daughter-in-law Gena Lance, brother Howard and wife Anita Lance, and sisters-in-law Brownie Lance and Dorothy Prater. Many nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, December 19, 2021 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. James Nelson will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of McMinnville Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the cemetery fund at Tucker Cemetery.
