Funeral service for James Bracey Pentecost, age 61, of Trinity, will be Saturday, December 18, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Decatur Baptist Church (2527 Danville Road, S.W., Decatur, AL 35603) with Rev. Joe McKaig officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to service at the church. Interment will immediately follow in Midway Memorial Gardens. Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate Bracey’s life, and we hope you will. Mr. Pentecost, who died Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born September 17, 1960, in Gadsden to James Marvin Pentecost and Julia Juanita Turner Pentecost. He was an electrician.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Lee Pentecost of Trinity; one daughter, Ashley Claborn (Will) of Decatur; his parents, Marvin & Juanita Pentecost of Athens; two sisters, Sheri Kinsey of Oklahoma, and Felecia Medley of Huntsville; and two granddaughters, Margaret Claborn and Charlotte Claborn, both of Decatur.
In lieu of flowers, it was Mr. Pentecost’s wish that you consider a donation to the Good Samaritan fund at Bank Independent in his name (James Pentecost) for the purpose of a college fund for his granddaughters, Maisie and Lottie Kate.
