Francis Delano “Dale” Shaver

Francis Delano “Dale” Shaver, age 84, passed peacefully on December 11, 2021, at his home in Arrington, TN. Dale was born July 27, 1937, to Allen Roy and Arria Mae Chandler Shaver in Roanoke, VA.

 

Dale attended MTSU where is received his bachelor’s degree. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps where he met his life-long best friend, Judge J. Randall Wyatt.

 

He was the owner of Nashville Painting Corporation from 1974-1999. Dale loved spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed golfing with his friends Tom Patterson and Robert Cannon. He loved his neighborhood and his neighbors, and he was affectionately known as the “Mayor of Hidden Valley”. He enjoyed western movies, the news and SEC football. He especially liked cheering on Vanderbilt Athletics and Tennessee Titans Football with his friend Randall.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Lee Shaver; daughter Ginger Obunge; stepson Kane Adams and his wife Dana; grandchildren, Ashlynn Ransom, Megan Ransom, Jayce Obunge, Maya Obunge; step-grandchildren Morgan Adams, Ellis Adams; great-grandchild, Arria Ransom; and brother George “Dickie” Shaver. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Earl Winfred Shaver, Robert Allen Shaver, Adrian Roger Shaver, and sister Barbara Shaver Allen.

 

A celebration of life will be held at Kedron United Methodist Church in Smyrna, TN on December 27, 2021, from 2:00-5:00 pm. Memorials may be to the St Jude Children’s Hospital or to The Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
