Funeral for Ret. MSGT Clarence “Smokey”  Stover, USAF 86, of Moulton will be Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Parkway Funeral Home, at 2:00 PM with Brandon Henderson officiating.  Burial will be in Midway Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.  MSGT Stover, who died Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at NHC, was born, March 27, 1935, to Virgil R. Stover and Dorothy C. Wriston Stover.  He served in the United States Navy and retired from the United States Air Force after 22 1/2 years of service. He also retired from the TVA Colbert Steam Plant, owned and operated Smokey’s Lock and Key in Lawrence County and was a school bus driver for Lawrence County School System. He served as a Cub Scout leader and a member of the American Legion Post  25 in Moulton. He was a member of Moulton Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife – Susan Carol Roberts Stover, brothers – Lloyd (Jewel) Stover, Glenn Stover, brother-in-law – Jerry Peck
Survivors include:
Son – Daniel (Pennie) Stover
Daughter – Kathleen (Russell) Sanders
Sister – Rosalie Peck
Sister-in-law – Lana Stover
Grandchildren – Rachael (Jim) Salzer, Rebecah Graves, James Sanders, Aubrie Stover, Rylie Stover
4 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Chitwood, Jim Crosslin, Proncey Robertson, Jeremy Hancock, Stanley Sparkman, Shannon Terry.
