Robert “Bob” Stafford Robertson passed away after a brief illness on November 26, 2021. He was born on December 12, 1936, to Rose Catherine Reynolds Robertson and Stafford Frances Robertson. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Fred and his sister, Ann.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Mae Unruh, whom he married on September 11, 1966; two children, Catherine Sue Twesten (Ray) and Robert Stoddard Robertson (Kimeron); and four grandchildren, Katrina, Robert, Drake, and Meredith.
Bob served in the United States army for 22 years, including two tours in Vietnam. After his retirement from the armed services, he attended law school and worked at Legal Services in Huntsville for more than a decade. He taught classes at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute for several years after his retirement from the law.
Bob was an excellent husband, father, grandfather, and community member; he was kind and conscientious and always strove to make the world a better place. He will be sorely missed.
A gathering in remembrance of Bob will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 4 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
In honor of his efforts to educate others, donations can be made to Alabama A & M University or the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
