Memorial service for Margarett Carroll (Jackson) King Tapscott, age 83, of Decatur, will be Monday, November 29, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.
Mrs. Tapscott, who died Sunday, November 21, 2021, at her residence, was born October 16, 1938, in Michigan to Lawrence Wesley Jackson and Era Mae Phillips Jackson. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard King, parents, and granddaughter, Keri Hester. Mrs. Tapscott enjoyed her rose garden, and cooking and canning. She loved her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and took care of everyone. Time with family and friends was most valuable to her.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Roy Tapscott of Decatur; two daughters, Sami Watts (Ruste) of Decatur and Trish Padgett (Chris) of Athens; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
