Funeral service for Lemuel Harris Halbrooks age 69 of Hartselle will be Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 1:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ben Bates officiating and his 1st cousin, Jimmie Halbrooks delivering the eulogy with burial in the New Center Baptist Church Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Halbrooks, who was born February 4, 1952 in Morgan County to James Harris Halbrooks and Lola Gladys Brooks Halbrooks, died on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wayne Halbrooks. Lemuel was a member of the New Center Baptist Church, coached youth sports for many years, loved Alabama Football and retired from the Trucking Industry.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Wiley Halbrooks; a son, Robert Halbrooks; a daughter, Wendi Johnson; a brother, Ivan Halbrooks (Lavon); a sister, Elese Collins (Steve) and 2 grandchildren, Lannah Johnson and Ashlyn Johnson.
Dusty Halbrooks, Derrick Halbrooks, Rodney Collins, Darwin Halbrooks, Tommy Halbrooks and Pat Halbrooks will serve as pallbearers.
