Mrs. Shirley Jean Ward, age 90 of Arab, Alabama, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021.
Mrs. Ward was born to the late John Kenneth and Ida Mae Wood Carver. She was born on September 19, 1931 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was a seamstress at the Pulaski Shirt Factory for many years. Mrs. Ward had many interest: reading, long rides in the car, going out to eat, and watching John Wayne movies. She loved to talk with people about her memories from the past and how life used to be. She enjoyed watching musicals at The Whole Backstage in Guntersville and Lowery House in Huntsville. And she loved her cat, Fluffy Butt.
Mrs. Ward is survived by her daughter: Shirley C. Moore (Charles); grandchildren, Christine Rutledge (Jimmy), Crystal Moore, Melinda Pritchard (Dave), Kelly Hamlett, Johnny Ward (Emily); great grandchildren, Mae, Alana, Dawson, Presley, Ben, Will, Tyler, Jessica, Sarah, and Hope.
Mrs. Ward is preceded in death by her husband, William Ward; parents, John Kenneth Carver and Ida Mae Wood Carver; daughter, Bonnie Anderson.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Brocks Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery in Union Grove.
Pallbearers escorting Mrs. Ward will be Charlie Moore, Dawson Rutledge, Jeff Snead, Johnny Ward.
