Ms. Jewel McAllister, age 84 of the Pleasant Groves Community passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021. She was a member of the Pleasant Groves Holiness Church for 61 years. She was a loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, and great-great aunt. Jewel was a very hard worker.
She is survived by her sisters, Mary Ellen Barricks, Annie Ruth Brewer, Ruby McAllister, Judy Brewer, and Thelma McAllister; sisters-in-law, Barbara McAllister and Nina McAllister; and several nieces and nephews.
Ms. McAllister was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Edith McAllister; sister & brother-in-law, Katie & Ernie Ramsey; brothers & sisters-in-law, Odie McAllister, Curtis & Mildred McAllister, Auther & Joy McAllister, and Raymond McAllister; and nephews, Philip Brewer and Keith McAllister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2021 at Pleasant Groves Holiness Church with Rev. James Carl Black and Rev. Shirley Byrum officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Scottsboro Funeral Home and from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow in adjoining cemetery.
