Walter “Snort” Lee Johnson Jr., age 55, of Estill Springs passed away on October 27, 2021 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems – Winchester. He was born on January 19, 1966 in Winchester to Mary Hill Johnson and the late Walter Lee Johnson Sr. Walter was a devoted overall wearing farmer who spent countless hours at the stock yard. In his spare time, you could find him at the river bank fishing. An avid sports fan, in his younger years he enjoyed cheering for Dale Earnhardt and more currently the Tennessee Vols. Walter will be remembered by all as being carefree and having a great sense of humor. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Cunningham; son-in-law, Nathan Eric Turney; and his beloved dogs, Patches and Rosie. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Polly Ann Johnson of Estill Springs; mother, Mary Stephens; children, Scott B. Wilfong (Amber McKenzie), Savannah Lynn Grider, Rainey Caudill (Robby Sanders), Megan (Casey) Jones and Maria Scott; grandchildren, Kaden Wilfong, Nevaeh Frazier, Bella McKenzie, McKenzy Jackson, Gabby Grider, Stormy Hall, Brayden Jones, Madilynn Jones, Waylon Jones and Irelynn Jones; brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, November 1, 2021 from 5pm – 8pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 2pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Taylor officiating.
