Leonard John Bowden, age 83, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in Huntsville, AL after a brief illness. Leonard was born in Johnstown, PA to John and Mildred Bowden on June 29, 1938. He served in the U. S. Air Force for 4 years, after which he earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Tennessee Temple College and Seminary in Chattanooga, TN. He was a longtime resident of Huntsville and member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Dorothy and loving son, Kevin. Also niece Jackie Reynolds, nephews William John Smith, Dennis Coulter, James Coulter all of Johnstown, PA and Jeffrey Coulter of Mineral, VA.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the service to follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Moulton Memorial Gardens in Moulton, AL at 1:30 p.m.
