Robert Irving “Sonny” Tubb died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was 83. He was born on May 1, 1938 in Monroe County, Mississippi to Elmer Charles Tubb and Becky Ashcroft Tubb.
A celebration of Sonny’s life will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Connect Church (Tupelo Freewill Baptist) on Veteran’s Blvd., with Pastor Terry Pierce officiating. Visitation will be from 1 PM to service time at the church. Burial will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery in Aberdeen. Holland Funeral Directors – Tupelo Chapel is honored to serve their friends.
Survivors include his wife, Patricita “Pat” Tubb of Auburn; song Greg Tubb (Delilah) of Madison, MS, and daughter, Sherry Tubb Fincher (Alan) of Pontotoc; sisters, Eugenia “Jeannie” Bowen of Aberdeen, and Lois Moffett of Aberdeen; grandchild Christopher “Chris” Mims (Lisa) of Pontotoc; and great-grandchildren Taylor, James, and Lukas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Becky Tubb.
