TUSCUMBIA-On View through November 12 at the Tennessee Valley Museum of Art From These Threads: Cotton Culture an exhibition of over 100 handmade quilts (1830s-present) and the history behind them.

Cotton in the South has a long, rich, and complicated past. From These Threads: Cotton Culture will offer visitors the opportunity to travel through some of the history of cotton, its production, and its use in the creation of quilts over the past 190 years. The exhibit will feature historical quilts dating from the 1830s through contemporary pieces created by today’s quilt artists. The quilts are drawn from private collections in the area.

We want to see your precious family quilts and learn the stories behind them! We’ll be sharing these community quilts to the museum’s Facebook and Instagram pages, as part of our celebration of the art of quilting.
