Shannon Douglas James, age 52, of Muscle Shoals, passed away on Friday, October 01, 2021.
Shannon was a diehard Alabama fan, ROLL TIDE!!! He loved music and enjoyed singing karaoke. He was a wonderful son, brother, and dad. He was loved by everyone who knew him.
The visitation will be 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 08, 2021 at Spry Memorial Chapel. A memorial service honoring his life will be at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel. Bro. James McCullar will officiate the service.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry James; brothers, Randy Bragwell, Brandon James; niece, Meghan Bragwell; and grandparents, Wayne & Bea James, Cecil & Christine Duggar.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Kayla Renee James Newell (Shannon), Cody Douglas James (Nicole), Megan Ireland (Brett); grandchildren, Canaan Plunkett, Drake, Ethan, & Paislei McLemore, Zayden & Kendra James, Elijah & Jonah Ireland, and baby girl soon to arrive Redlei Newell; mother, Nell Duggar Jones; and sisters, Cindy Sutton (fiancé, Lee Gifford), Martha Verne (Lee); and three nieces and one nephew.
The family would like to extend a sincere and special thanks to Encompass Hospice, to all the nurses and staff. Thank you to Julie who showed so much love and compassion, Laura & Lisha whom Shannon called Laverne & Shirley. They always made him smile. Thank you all so much for taking such good care of Shannon. All of our family and friends are truly grateful to you and your care.
