Cheryl Day Hoard  Cheryl Day Hoard, age 70, of Huntsville Alabama passed away on October 1, 2021 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will remember her adventurous spirit.

Cheryl was married for 32 years to the love of her life, Robert Hoard, now deceased. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Hope Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder. After graduating from Auburn University, she worked for the Girl Scouts organization for 33 years, retiring as the Chief Operating Officer of the Girl Scouts of North Alabama in 2006. Cheryl and Robert lived a full life which included traveling the world, hiking, camping, bon fires, and spending time with family and friends.

Cheryl is survived by her brother, Robert Day; nephews and niece, Brad (Noel) and Brian (Rebecca) Day, and Jill Wall (Jay), five great nieces and one great nephew; an uncle and aunt; her dear cousins; and close friends, especially her “sister” and college roommate, Faye Wilson; her in-laws, Susan Miller (Kevin), Jennifer McCool (Alex), and Patrick Hoard (Vicki Gaught) and their families.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, Eugene and Lucille Day; her in-laws Earl and Shirley Hoard; sisters-in-law Peggy Day and Lisa Johnson.

Proud of her Kentucky heritage, Cheryl will be buried at the Day Family Cemetery in West Liberty, Kentucky alongside her husband, parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and other family members.
