Patricia A. Kappler (Nelson), 73, of Clymer, N.Y., passed away in the early hours of Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, after a lengthy battle with cancer, at home with her loving family at her side.
Pat was born in Morgan County, Alabama, on April 2, 1948, to the late Frank and Ann (Randolph) Nelson.
Born and raised in Alabama, she moved to Clymer with her husband, Bill, in 1984 when Bill found employment with a local company. A bookkeeper by profession, Pat worked at Mark Shoup General Contracting for 15 years among other companies in the area. She had an affection for border collie sheepdogs and hummingbirds. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Pat is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bill Kappler; her son, Brady (Robin) Kappler, of Eagle, Nebraska; two grandchildren: Katyn and Sam Kappler; a brother, Don (Betty) Nelson, of Decatur, Alabama; and two nieces: Suzanne Nelson and Merry Albro. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Panama Baptist Church, 21 North Street, Panama, N.Y., where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in the Clymer Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Kappler’s memory may be made to the Panama Baptist Church, Clymer Volunteer Fire Department, or Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care. Arrangements are being handled by David J. Dengler, Spitzer Funeral Home.
