Ms. Jimmie D. Baugh McBride, 81, of 817 Oak Ave, Panama City, Fl., died Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Originally from Scottsboro, AL, she made Panama City her home in 1967 coming here from the Chicago area. She was a local business owner of the iconic L&L Laundry and Dry Cleaners for over 30 years (for those who remember, the pink building with a red rose on the side). Always charitable within the local community, she was a most generous and compassionate person, never meeting a stranger. Jimmie had an innate gift for accepting and loving people as they were, no matter their walk in life.
Ms. McBride is survived by two daughters: Pamela Evans (Casey) of Panama City; and Monyce Evans (Rick) of Panama City. Four grandchildren: Mario Squitieri Jr. (Livia Somarriba) of Miami FL; Roman Evans (Alexis Metherell) of Dothan, AL; Miranda Squitieri (Juan Martiato) of Miami FL; and Maria Morgan Stokes (Anthony) of La Plata, MD. Four great grandchildren: Crimson (Glorianne Williams), Roman Jr. (Miranda Anderson), Cash (Alexis Metherell) and Ruby June (Miranda Squitieri). Siblings: Eddie Baugh (Nargiza); Gus Baugh Jr. (Faye); and Jackie Baugh. Close friend Chance Hinton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gus L. Baugh; mother, Lorene F. Crane Baugh; sister, Earlon Baugh Sheaks; and longtime friend, Shelby Harris.
Local visitation and service will be Wednesday, October 6 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Graveside service will take place at Crane Baugh Family Cemetery in Skyline Alabama on Friday October 8 at 2 p.m. The family requests that you bring a joyful heart and wear your brightest colors as we celebrate her loving and lively spirit.
