Wes Battles Memorial Services for Mr. Wes Battles, age 61 of Douglasville, will be Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville at 12:00 P.M. Central Standard Time. A Private Family Burial will follow.

Mr. Battles passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, GA. He was born in Glendora, California and as a child, he and his brothers grew up with a wild and unique reputation on their street, and they were known as “The Battles Boys”. At 18, he started working at Cal-Duct working in yard maintenance, but eventually worked his way up to being a company’s salesman. He worked for Cal-Duct for 30 years. In 2009, he and his family moved to Douglasville, Georgia where he began working for Graybar for a number of years, before working for Georgia Underground for the last seven and a half years as an outside salesman. He was dedicated to the same industry for 45 years. When he wasn’t working at his job, he was often working on home improvement projects around his home, spending time with his family, his dogs, and he really enjoyed Happy Hour with his neighbors in the Cul-De-Sac. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who will forever be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Amy Forrest Battles of Douglasville, Ga; two children: Sean Battles (Hannah Thompson) of Atlanta, Ga, and Katie Battles (Lawson Benefield) of Lineville; two sisters: Lynn DaMore (Jim) of Olive Hurst, CA and Julie Battles (Mori) of St. Peters, MO; one brother, Dee Battles; his father-in-law, Jerry Forrest of Douglasville, GA; his mother-in-law, Darlene Clark (Mike) of Murfreesboro, TN; multiple brother in laws and sister in laws, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Troy Dee Battles Sr. and Florene L. Battles, and one younger brother, Richard “Rick” Battles;

A visitation will take place on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 11:00 A.M CST until service time at 12:00 P.M. CST. The family requests no flowers; instead, donations would be appreciated to go towards the unexpected funeral and medical bills. Donations can be made through Benefield Funeral Home.

The family would also like to send a special Thank you to the Doctors, Palliative Nurses, and Medical Staff of Wellstar Douglas Hospital who kept him as comfortable as possible.
