Leta C. Hunt, age 59, of Dora, passed away September 15, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd “T” and Pauline Cornelius; grandparents Earnest and Versie Fendley and William “Poppa Bill” and Elizabeth Cornelius and her mother-in-law, Mila Kay Pledger Hunt. Leta is survived by her husband, Barry Hunt; children, Brandon Hunt (Brooke); Amanda Benefield (Tony); grandchildren, Carson Hunt, Channing Hunt and Kaylynn Benefield; siblings Leslie Cornelius, Corkey Cornelius, Amanda Cornelius, Phillip Hunt, Brandi Hunt, Jeff Hunt, Mark Hunt and Belinda Burks Desiderio and niece Tori Hunt. Leta was a loving wife, mother, sister and Nona. She was the light in any room she walked into. Her laughter and joy were contagious. She enjoyed serving in the church in any way she could. Her grandbabies were her whole heart. Her favorite past-time was reading. Leta enjoyed trips to the mountains. If you knew Leta, you knew that she did not shake hands, she was a hugger. No one gave better hugs than Leta. Services to honor Leta’s life will be held Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Bradford Sanctuary of Praise in Pinson. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:30 pm. Funeral service will begin at 2pm. There will be no formal graveside service. Leta will be laid to rest in Clark Memorial Cemetery. Her son, Pastor Brandon Hunt, will officiate.
