Derrol King Burney Sr. age 75 of Falkville, died Monday September 13, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clifford and Virginia Burney; wife, Linda Shoemake Burney; son, Marty Burney; brother, Steve Burney; and his sisters: Judy Johnston, Barbara Burks and Kathy Burney. Derrol is survived by his sons: Rex (Trish) Burney, Chris (Karen) Burney, Kevin (Naomi) Burney, Keith (Tonya) Burney, and Hobert (Allison) Burney; Daughter, Tammy Burney; Brothers: Ronald (Barbara) Burney, Dwight (Debbie) Burney, Greg Burney and Rodney Burney; sisters: Faye (James) Hunt, Juanita (Johnnie) Reid, Joan Perkins, Connie Roquemore, Jill Burney; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members. The family will receive friends at Light House Baptist Church on Friday, September 17, 2021 beginning at 5:00 PM. The celebration of Derrol’s life will be Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 3:00 PM. at Light House Baptist Church with burial to follow in Bell Springs Cemetery.
